actually i made a mistake, the state of PA has roughly 25 championships,,,,not counting the Wings LOL......i had to factor in all Pitt Championships also.

Hector not sure where you got those figures, but i doubt philly has 18 , i think more like 13

Also LA, Chicago are ahead of Philly in city tabulations

dude don't even go there because u know for a fact the "Big Apple" only applies to those from Manhattan! which your not! Yankee Fans are those who primarily lived or worked in the Bronx! Not Queens! Not Brooklyn! Not Staten Island, Not Manhattan! In New York there is a SEVERE TEAM ETIQUETTE! which are considered like the TEN COMMANDMENTS!!! those who lived and worked in Queens are considered New York Mets Fans, Brooklyn use to have the Dodgers but after much failure in NY moved to LA, Manhattan also had the Giants but they also moved to San Fransisco Lew u are one of the Original Trolley Dodgers/Bridegroom!!! as qouted by Charles Dickens! True New York Mets/Yankees/Giants/Dodgers hated each other! You would be considered an outcast if you rooted for a Yankees team if you lived in Queens or Brooklyn...
in fact you don't even have an team identity your team abandoned you over 50 years to move to LA....

Also the Philadelphia Wings also won an additional 6 championships to make the #3 on the list with 24 City Championships

the actual no of championships are 18 for Philadelphia, which places them 4th on the list all city champioship..

1. NY- 49
2. Boston- 34
3. Detriot-22
4. Philadelphia- 18

PA has about 13 championships, and NY has about 49. This is counting the 4 core professional sports.....Hockey, Football, B ball, and Baseball.

Listen, the last time the Phillies were NOT in last place was way back in 1989 when Mike Schmidt was hobling around third base for them.

The fact of the matter is that the Phillies and Philadelphia in general is and will NEVER be an elite team or city. They will always live in the shadow of big brother: THE BIG APPLE.

I can live with the rest of my life even past my social security with the significant beatings the Phillies gave your precious Mets, from these past few years to last me a lifetime! for 2 yrs in a row the Phillies came back from being 18 games behind the Mets and come back by the last days of the season to knock them out of the playoffs back to back years!!! and kept beating them this year as well! So take your INSIGNIFICANCY and add the 20yrs plus the 23yrs so thatll be another 43 yrs before the Mets will ever win another Pennant!
